About us · Uncle Mo Studios

Nearly 30 years of creating experiences.
A new chapter in storytelling.

An independent publishing and creative media studio shaped by curiosity, meaningful connections, and decades of international production experience.

Our story

From moments in the making to stories that stay with us.

After nearly three decades producing events and experiences around the world, founder Maurice Lisbona decided to take his passion for bringing people together in a new direction.

Throughout his career, he discovered that the most memorable experiences weren't defined solely by their scale or spectacle. They were shaped by the people, cultures, places, and unexpected moments that made them meaningful.

That philosophy became the foundation of Uncle Mo Studios, an independent publishing and creative media company dedicated to discovering, documenting, and sharing stories worth experiencing.

Our founder

Meet Maurice Lisbona.

Maurice has spent almost 30 years in international event production, shaping experiences for audiences and clients across different countries and cultures. His background combines creative direction, complex production, and a lifelong curiosity about how people connect with places.

At Uncle Mo Studios, he brings that perspective to a new kind of production: books, research-led editorial work, visual narratives, and practical digital tools designed to help stories travel farther.

Our approach

Look closer. Listen longer. Tell the story well.

We believe the most rewarding stories begin with genuine curiosity. That means going beyond the obvious attractions and spending time with the details, people, traditions, and everyday rituals that make a place distinct.

  • Experience-led: apply the discipline of live event production to story development and audience experience.
  • Research-first: give historical, culinary, and cultural context room to breathe.
  • People-centered: celebrate the voices and communities behind the story.
  • Across media: connect books, photography, editorial work, and useful technology.

Because the best stories aren't just told. They're experienced.
